Weather Policies

Inclement Weather

We want to give you an update on the process for inside days in the morning and for two-hour delays. Inside days are called when the temperature outside is below 20 or it is actively snowing, raining or lightening. Two-hour delays are called by the district and will be announced through local news, district website and social media. More information can be found here: Denver Public Schools Weather Delays

These are the arrival procedures for inside days:

• Please do not bring your child to school earlier than 7:30 am, staff supervision will not be available outside and the Kiss and Go Lane will not be an option on inside days.
• If your child is in ECE, Kindergarten and 1^st grade, please walk your child to the main door by the auditorium. Your child will be greeted by school personnel and directed to where they need to go. If we allowed each child to walk into the building with an adult, this could potentially create an unsafe situation for all. No parents allowed inside the building to ensure the safety of all children.
• If your child is in 2nd, 3rd, 4^th or 5^th, please walk or direct your child to the outside door by the GYM. Your child will be greeted by school personnel and directed to where they need to go.  If we allowed each child to walk into the building with an adult, this could potentially create an unsafe situation for all. No parents allowed inside the building to ensure the safety of all children.
• ECE parents will be the only ones allowed into the building.
