Dear Steck Community,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed principal of Steck Elementary. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such an outstanding reputation. The tight-knit neighborhood school feeling Steck exudes is one of the primary reasons why I was drawn to your great school.
I have dedicated myself to the field of education for over 20 years. During my career, I have worked relentlessly to create supportive learning environments, increase parent involvement, and achieve academic excellence. As a principal, I have also worked collaboratively with the Instructional Leadership Team to reorganize and restructure instructional time, align curriculum and assessment, and create a systematic approach to monitoring academic growth.
Along with teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of high expectations and performance at Steck Elementary. I will work collaboratively with staff members to ensure instructional practices that are rigorous, while maintaining a high level of student engagement and developing students’ character.
Throughout my years as a leader, I have learned that people are the most important assets of a school. People are the ones who build a positive school culture conducive to learning and growth. Creating trusting relationships with all stakeholders, while distributing leadership, leads to consistent improvement. I also hold a deep belief that parents, no matter their background and socioeconomic status, strive to provide the best possible opportunities for their children’s overall development.
This upcoming year, I will be focused on getting to know students, staff, and parents. I am committed to listening, observing, and asking questions. I am excited about the future and look forward to working with you as a team to help your child meet their goals and have a great school year. Enjoy your summer and see you in August!
