Steck is a neighborhood school with a strong community and an experienced staff dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming environment with high expectations to support growth and learning for all of our Steck Stars. Our teams get to know each of our students well in order to plan rigorous activities and provide everyone with the tools needed for success.
The Steck community works together to foster our students’ academic learning along with their social and emotional growth on their journey as Steck Stars. We take time to focus thoughtfully on incorporating community building and SEL lessons supporting social-emotional growth as essential components giving students the confidence and tools to grow in all areas. Harmony SEL activities are part of every Steck Stars’ day.
All of our teachers collaborate with one another, specialists, para-professionals, our principal and families, to develop programming options that meet all of our learners’ needs. Gifted and talented programming options may include weekly challenge groups that support individuals’ strength areas, working on challenge activities in the classroom, completing advanced lessons or working on a passion project. Our goal is to provide Steck Stars with experiences that engage, motivate, and inspire them to shine brightly everyday!
