Hello Steck Stars! I am one of the first grade teachers and am excited to return to Steck for my 9th year. It’s a great school and community and teaching first grade is fun and fulfilling. I love seeing students learn and grow, gain confidence in themselves and their academic skills, and identify themselves as readers and writers. I have worked in education for the past 17 years, as a psychologist and with teaching experience at the elementary and high school levels. I have a Ph.D. from UW-Madison and worked in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and California before moving to Colorado to enjoy the mountains with my family. I am originally from Germany and most of my family still lives there. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places, building things, eating good food, listening to live music, painting, and reading. I am married, have two daughters (Park Hill Elementary & McAuliffe Middle), and a pup, Penny, who keeps us all entertained. I am looking forward to meeting my new students and having a great year together!
