I am so excited to join the Steck team as the 2nd grade math teacher! I’m from Rahway, New Jersey, but I have lived in Denver since 2016. I have a BA in English from Rutgers University and an MA in Early Childhood Education from Kean University.
In my 14 year teaching career in New Jersey and Colorado, I’ve worked as a classroom teacher in grades 1-5, a K-5 literacy and math interventionist, and a middle school math tutor. Also, I’ve worked as a technical writer for Lexia Learning. Despite math not being my favorite subject when I was an elementary student, I learned to love it as an adult. I work to ensure my students are challenged, have fun, and see themselves as mathematicians.
Outside of work, I love traveling, eating at local restaurants, cooking/baking, taking walks, watching anything on Bravo, and practicing yoga. Let’s do this, Steck Stars!
