Hello Steck Stars!

My name is Lindsey VanKeulen and I am a Senior Team Lead and Math Interventionist new to Steck! I am so excited to be working with your community this year! I am new to Steck, but this is my 13th year teaching and my 10th year in DPS. Previously, I worked in Adams 12 and Widefield school districts, but here in DPS, I’ve served at Green Valley, Escalante-Biggs, and Schmitt. I have previously taught 4th, 5th, 1st, and Kindergarten! This year, I will be supporting Steck learners as a math interventionist for all grades, as well as supporting all grade level teachers through instructional coaching.

I was born here in CO, but grew up with my mother and brother in Mississippi. I spent all my school breaks here in Colorado with my father, so I enjoyed a childhood full of camping, hiking, and beautiful Colorado summers! I received my Bachelor’s Degree from CU Boulder in 2012 and my Masters of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (the Ritchie program) from DU in 2023. I aspire to be an elementary school Principal sometime soon! I believe in the power of collaboration among students, teachers, and families, as I believe we work better and more creatively together! I have a passion for making math fun, hands-on, and engaging, while focusing on strong language skills in order to explain our thinking and strategies to one another.

Outside of school, I like to watch movies, eat great food, and adventure with my babies, husband, and 2 dogs! I am blessed with two children- a son, Lincoln, who just turned 3 and my daughter, Rynlee, who just turned 1! I really enjoy crafting, cake decorating, and collecting houseplants!
