SAVE THE DATE!
We are gearing up for the Steck PTSA’s largest fundraiser – our Silent Auction. Please mark this date on your calendar now! As the largest fundraiser for Steck, the success of our auction is important to the continued success of our school.
This year’s auction will be held on Friday, March 13th at the Island – which is a large, indoor beach volleyball venue which will be transformed for our event into a fun, beach like atmosphere for a great evening! We will have a silent auction, followed by dinner and a live auction and dancing.
The success of the auction comes about through the support of the entire Steck community. You will continue to receive information about the auction as it gets closer, but here are some of the ways in which we would like the entire Steck community to get involved and help support our auction:
· Attend the auction and invite your family, friends and anyone else who is interested in supporting our children.
· Donate items to be auctioned off or items that can be used in the auction. We would like everyone’s participation in donating for the auction. Although the auction is a few months off, now is the time to start thinking of donation possibilities. As you are out doing holiday shopping, consider asking businesses if they would be interested in donating for our auction. Service providers (hairdressers, spas…) are often willing to donate as it can be a source of new clients for them. Other items that sell quite well are unique items and activities – such as a home cooked meals or a theme party thrown by a donor for several guests. We know many of you have unique skills that can be made into very popular auction items. Also, the use of vacation homes or event tickets are very profitable items. We will also be having classroom baskets and projects for each class. Most of all, be creative and don’t be afraid to ask for donations!
· Volunteer your time to the auction. We have a need for volunteers now to help us with the planning, and we will be asking for volunteers of all types in the weeks prior to and during the event. This helps the auction run smoothly and keep our costs down. It’s also a great way to get to know other Steck families.
We are looking forward to this year’s auction. If you are interested in helping or have questions about the auction please email us.
